When You Can’t Ride: The Best Motorcycle Moments in Movies

Winter does strange things to motorcyclists.

The bikes are tucked away, the roads are salty, and riding becomes less about throttle control and more about standing in the garage staring at your bike, convincing yourself it’s definitely not too cold. When riding isn’t an option, most of us turn to the next best thing — watching other people ride.

Preferably at illegal speeds. In movies. With a massive budget and absolutely zero consequences.

That’s what this video is about.

This isn’t a film review, and it’s definitely not a debate about realism or riding technique. It’s simply a countdown of my favourite motorcycle moments in cinema — the scenes that still give you a two-wheeled fix when you can’t get out yourself.

From Trinity hammering a Ducati 996 down a purpose-built highway in The Matrix Reloaded, to Arnold Schwarzenegger proving a Harley-Davidson Fat Boy can be aggressively intimidating in Terminator 2, these scenes are iconic for a reason.

They’re stylish, ridiculous, loud, and unforgettable — much like motorcycling itself.

You’ll probably disagree with the order. That’s fine. Argue politely.

If you’re stuck off the bike, looking for inspiration, or just need an excuse to rewatch some great movie moments, this one’s for you.
