The wraps are off the new VR46 MotoGP 2026 colour scheme, and while the look has evolved, one thing hasn’t changed at all — the rider line-up.
VR46 Racing Team head into the new season with continuity front and centre, keeping Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli on board.
Stability can be a strength… but it can also raise a few eyebrows 👀
Digi: quietly doing the job 📈
Let’s start with Digi.He doesn’t shout, he doesn’t posture, he just gets on with it.
His results over the last season were solid and, at times, genuinely impressive. He’s shown that when things click, he can run at the front, manage races, and bring the bike home where it belongs. In a Ducati-dominated grid, that matters.
For me, Di Giannantonio has earned his place. No drama, no excuses — just steady progression. Exactly the sort of rider VR46 need as they look toward the future.
Franky Morbidelli: redemption time… or exit ramp? 😬
Morbidelli, on the other hand, feels like he’s standing at a crossroads.
Last season it felt like he hit everyone he could find — riders, expectations, and sometimes his own momentum. Whether it was desperation, frustration, or simply trying too hard to prove a point, it wasn’t a great look.
This year has to be a redemption season.
Morbidelli is a former world champion and a rider with real class — but MotoGP is brutally unforgiving. If the results don’t come, and the incidents don’t stop, I think we’ll start to see the beginning of a progressive exit from the paddock.
Harsh? Maybe.Realistic? Absolutely.
Looking ahead: VR46 and Aprilia? 👀🔮
All signs point towards VR46 switching to Aprilia from 2027, when the new technical regulations kick in.
If — and it’s a big if — that move happens, I’d be amazed if they don’t change at least one rider. New rules, new manufacturer, new direction… that usually comes with a reset button.
Rider continuity now makes sense.Rider continuity then? Much less so.
The VR46 MotoGP 2026 livery verdict 🎨🚁
I’ll be honest — I’m not a massive fan of the new livery.
That said… you can always spot a VR46 bike from the helicopter shot, and in modern MotoGP that counts for more than people realise. Strong branding, instant recognition, and zero confusion about who you’re watching.
And let’s face it — love it or hate it, it looks like VR46, and that’s kind of the point.
VR46 remain one of the most fascinating teams on the grid — not just because of the colours or the name behind them, but because they’re sitting right on the edge of MotoGP’s next big shift.
New rules are coming.Manufacturers will shuffle. And not everyone will make the cut.
It’s going to be an interesting season to watch 👀🔥
